National Association of Flutists of Mexico

Evangelina Reyes, an internationally renowned Mexican flutist, has received Honorable Mention from the Universidad Veracruzana and the prestigious International Award given by the National Association of Flutists of the United States in Chicago in 2022, a recognition that distinguishes a single flutist in the world for their career and cultural contribution. She has recorded five albums with the Urtext label and has performed as a soloist in various festivals around the world. Currently, she combines her artistic, musical and pedagogical work as president of the National Association of Flutists of Mexico, an organization that she founded and leads the organization of the International Flute Conventions in México, held biannually.

Originally from Chihuahua, Abraham Jacob Sáenz is an outstanding flutist who has won awards at the “Gildardo Mojica” National Flute Competition and the Chihuahua Conservatory Competition. He has collaborated with important orchestras in México and has performed alongside renowned violinist Massimo Quarta. His participation in festivals includes the South Texas Flute and Clarinet Festival, FIFyPo and FestIn – Flauta. As a soloist, he has performed with OFUNAM and the Aguascalientes Chamber Orchestra, among others. In addition, he has recorded with the Deutsche Grammophon label as part of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería. Currently, he is Concertist of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature, Principal Flutist of OFUNAM and collaborates regularly with the URTEXT Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería.

Originally from Oaxaca, Yadira Guevara graduated with honors from the UABJO School of Fine Arts as a Music Instructor specializing in Flute. She continued her training at the Ollin Yoliztli Cultural Center under the guidance of outstanding teachers. She has won second and third place in the “Gildardo Mojica” National Transverse Flute Competition and has participated in master classes with internationally renowned flutists. As General and Artistic Director of the Oaxaca International Flute and Piccolo Festival (FIFyPo), she has organized five successful editions between 2019 and 2023.

Originally from Toluca, José Valderrábano graduated from CoMEM as a Technician in Transverse Flute and from ESM-INBAL, where he completed a Bachelor's Degree in Early Music with a specialty in Baroque Transverse Flute. He has studied early notation at the Hispano-American School of Early Music since 2020 and has taken master classes with teachers such as Benedeck Csalog and Alberto Almarza. In 2024, he led the first edition of the International Flute Festival (FestIn – Flute) in Mexico City, held at the National Center for the Arts.

Jenny Lizette Ramírez graduated from the Universidad Veracruzana and studied flute under the tutelage of Natalia Valderrama. She continued her musical training in Belgium and obtained a Master's degree in Teaching and a Doctorate in Education from CEVIP. Currently, she is the Coordinator of the Children's Musical Initiation Center (CIMI – Xalapa) of the Universidad Veracruzana, where she also teaches in the Bachelor's Degree in Musical Education and Arts program. Her academic and administrative work positions her as a key figure in musical training in Veracruz.

Originally from Oaxaca, Cynthia Minacú López has a degree in Communication and Marketing, with a Master's in Education. With extensive experience in logistics and event organization, she worked in the promotion of Oaxacan products internationally and at the Mezcal Fair. She has taught at universities in Oaxaca and Chihuahua, and has specialized in market research. Currently, she combines her management experience with music, acting as a representative of prominent artists and Executive Director of the Oaxaca International Flute and Piccolo Festival, which has brought together international flutists since 2019. She is also Deputy General Director of ANFMEX and General Administrator of Grupo Recolector de Morelos.
